Salary: £8.72 per hour

Orchid Care Home is purpose-built and close to the district centre with its shopping and social facilities and good transport links. We have 84 single ensuite rooms, and our residents require nursing care, some have mental health issues such as dementia, and some need end-of-life care. Each of the three floors has its own dedicated care team to ensure continuity. Orchid has several lounges and dining areas, a large cinema room, hair salon, activity room, and a coffee shop which leads straight into our garden. Our residents are supported by our teams to have maximum choice and control of their lives in the least restrictive way possible.
Due to a new unit being opened in our beautiful and friendly home, we need care assistants to work days or nights, full-time or bank. The bank position is to provide cover as and when we need it, such as for annual leave or sick leave, so the hours and days you work will vary.
Experience is valuable, but not essential. We are looking for genuine, caring and hard-working people who really want to make a positive difference to the lives of our residents. We will provide you with your uniform, and the support and training you need, including induction, the Care Certificate and ongoing development.
We need caring and compassionate people to help us deliver the type of care you’d want your own relatives to have. With a flexible and dynamic approach to providing person centred care, you‘ll be working with our lovely teams to ensure the lives of our residents are happy, healthy and comfortable.
Your role will be to ensure the general well-being of our residents, promoting their independence, choice and dignity by delivering the highest standards of care. You will help with personal care such as washing, bathing and dressing, supporting people who need help at meal times, and by taking part in social activities with residents, both individually and as part of a group.
Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of adults. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
