Salary: £8.72 per hour
Are you caring and compassionate? If so, our skilled and dedicated team need you, join us and make a real difference to the lives of our residents.
Orchid Care Home is purpose-built and close to the district centre with its shopping and social facilities and good transport links. We have 84 single ensuite rooms, and our residents require nursing care, some have mental health issues such as dementia, and some need end-of-life care. Each of the three floors has its own dedicated care team to ensure continuity. Orchid has several lounges and dining areas, a large cinema room, hair salon, activity room, and a coffee shop which leads straight into our garden. Our residents are supported by our teams to have maximum choice and control of their lives in the least restrictive way possible.
Due to a new unit being opened in our beautiful and friendly home, we need caring and compassionate people to help us deliver the type of care you’d want your own relatives to have.
When you join us as a bank kitchen assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in the success of our care home by providing cover for any staff absences. You should be reliable, considerate and caring in your approach, and flexible when it comes to your work patterns. Either way, you’ll be a good team player who takes pride in your work and happy to go the extra mile helping to maintain the warm and friendly atmosphere for our residents.
Experience of working in a care setting is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
As this is a bank position to provide cover as and when we need it, such as for annual leave or sick leave, so the hours and days you work will vary.
Our company aims to present a family feel to our services we provide, this is extended to our service users, visitors and staff alike. We invest in our staff in training and development, above the national guidelines as we recognise our staff are the key to our success. Recruiting the right staff for our service and retaining those staff are paramount. We do this by valuing their input and empowering them throughout their roles. As a company we quality manage each of our homes to ensure they provide a safe and a robust service and continue to meet all the Care Quality Commissions requirements. We are continuingly striving to be Centres of Excellence in all we do.
