Orchid Care Home is purpose-built and close to the district centre with its shopping and social facilities and good transport links. We have 84 single ensuite rooms, and our residents require nursing care, some have mental health issues such as dementia, and some need end-of-life care. Each of the three floors has its own dedicated care team to ensure continuity. Orchid has several lounges and dining areas, a large cinema room, hair salon, activity room, and a coffee shop which leads straight into our garden. Our residents are supported by our teams to have maximum choice and control of their lives in the least restrictive way possible.
Due to a new unit being opened in our beautiful and friendly home, we need Registered Nurses (RGN/RMN) with excellent clinical skills and experience of working in a nursing home to work days or nights, full-time or bank. As the bank position is to provide cover as and when we need it, such as for annual leave or sick leave, the hours and days you work will vary.
We need caring and compassionate people to help us deliver the type of care you’d want your own relatives to have. With a flexible and dynamic approach to providing person centred care, you‘ll be responsible for developing care plans, administering medication and generally ensuring the safety and welfare of all our residents. Promoting best practice within the team to maintain our high standards of care, and maintaining an oversight of all recording, you will also supervise team members to ensure effective team working. You may also be involved with induction, mentoring and training staff as directed. Along with all of the day to day tasks there will be the requirement to participate in quality assurance audits.
Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of adults. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances. You will of course, need to have a valid NMC PIN, have experience in a care setting, and be available occasionally to work weekend and evening shifts.
