Role:

To keep our beautiful and friendly home running smoothly, we are looking for an experienced chef to join us, working Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 4pm. We need caring and compassionate people to help us provide the type of home environment you’d want your own relatives to have.

Ideally with catering experience in a care home or school, you will already hold a minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.

You will understand the importance of nutritious, varied and well-balanced meals, for our residents’ physical and mental well-being. Your excellent communication skills and your ability to work well within a team will ensure you compile suitable menus, along with input from other members of staff and the residents’ own preferences, thereby promoting choice, dignity and respect.

You must have your NVQ3 in health and social care, and you must have had medication training. Your experience of working in a care home and your good organisational and communication skills will be just what you need to lead a team of staff and ensure the smooth running of the service whilst on duty, responding to emergencies and providing guidance and support to care assistants under the supervision of qualified nursing staff. Other responsibilities will include medication administration and answering queries from visitors and professional bodies.

Role:

To keep our friendly home a happy and bright place to be, we are seeking an experienced activities coordinator, to join our team for 35 hours per week, working 9am to 4.30pm. This is a fun and varied position and we need a warm-hearted, enthusiastic and committed individual to help us deliver the type of caring and stimulating environment you’d want your own relatives to have.

You will need to be creative and confident, with positive energy and a natural ability to get along with people, plus great organisational and IT skills.

Activities are a huge part of life for our residents so we want to ensure the events we plan are person-centred, interesting and fun.

Your role will include devising and implementing meaningful occupational therapies, helping our residents retain a sense of purpose and self-worth, bringing joy to their lives in an environment of safety, trust and respect.

Activities may include crafting, board games, puzzles, gardening, reminiscence therapy. You will need to liaise with our residents to take account of their ideas and requests, and contact providers for music sessions, pet therapy, etc.

Attention to detail is vital.

Experience/Qualification:

Good working knowledge of Excel and Word.

Suitable qualifications in Maths and English.

Previous experience in handling money and payroll.
