Registered Nurse – Mabbs Hall

Registered nurse required – part time days 

 Location: Mabbs Hall, Mildenhall, Suffolk

Salary: £18 per hour

Mabbs Hall Care Home is situated in the centre of town, ensuring it’s easy to get to and has strong links with the community. We provide nursing care for 29 residents, mostly in single rooms but we also have two double rooms so couples can stay together. Our landscaped garden compliments the friendly home with seating areas and raised flower beds, and wildlife, including roe deer and squirrels, are regular visitors to our garden. Our professional and supportive team make this a lovely place to live and work.

Job Overview:  

To keep our beautiful and friendly home running smoothly, we need a Registered Nurse with experience of working in a care home to work part time days, including some weekends. We need a caring and compassionate individual to help us deliver the type of care you’d want your own relatives to have.

You‘ll be responsible for developing care plans, administering medication and generally ensuring the safety and welfare of all our residents. Promoting best practice within the team to maintain our high standards of care, and maintaining an oversight of all recording, you will also supervise team members to ensure effective team working. You may also be involved with induction, mentoring and training staff as directed. Along with all of the day to day tasks there will be the requirement to participate in quality assurance audits.

Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of adults. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances. You will of course, need to have a valid NMC PIN, and have experience in a care setting.

Experience Required:

  • Valid NMC PIN
  • Update DBS check / willing to undergo a DBS check
  • Minimum of a year’s experience in a care home
  • Working to the standards set by regulators and by external bodies

Domestic assistants – Sairam Villa

Sairam Villa is a very special place, a state-of-the-art, purpose-built care home in Harrow. Focusing mainly, but not exclusively, on the Asian community, the home caters to service users who require nursing care, suffer from mental health issues such as dementia, or who need end-of-life care. The home has strong links with the local community and is a vegetarian home, catering from the morning cup of chai, to the daal and roti in the evening.

Job Overview:
To keep our friendly home a happy and bright place to be, we are seeking two domestic assistants, one full time and one bank. We need warm-hearted, enthusiastic and committed individuals to help us deliver the type of caring and stimulating environment you’d want your own relatives to have.
When you join us as a domestic assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in the success of our lovely care home. You will be making sure the residents’ bedrooms and communal areas, e.g. corridors, lounges, toilets and storage areas are maintained in a comfortable and hygienic condition. We will ensure you are trained in infection control, how to use the equipment and any cleaning chemicals necessary, in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
You’ll be a good team player who takes pride in your work, and be happy to go the extra mile helping to maintain the warm and friendly atmosphere for our residents.
Experience of working in a care setting is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
We have two positions available, one full time post, and one bank to provide cover as and when we need it, such as for annual leave or sick leave, so the hours and days you work will vary.

Activity Co-ordinator – Sairam Villa

We need a warm-hearted, enthusiastic and committed individual to help us deliver the type of caring and stimulating environment you’d want your own relatives to have.
You will be absolutely essential to the well-being of the residents that we support. Your role will include devising and implementing meaningful occupational therapies, organising outings when appropriate, as well as events in the home.
We need a programme of activities and events aimed at promoting independence and social engagement, and making certain all our residents have tailored involvement to suit their needs. This may include reminiscence therapy, liaising with residents to take account of their ideas and requests, and contacting providers for music sessions, pet therapy, crafts, puzzles and lots more.
Excellent communication skills are required, as is the ability to work well as part of a dedicated team. Always giving support to our residents and maintaining their dignity and privacy, the whole team strive to provide a happy, stimulating and stable environment.
