Registered Nurse Days – Orchid Care Home

Salary: £17.00 to £18.00 per hour dependent upon skills and experience.

Orchid Care Home is purpose-built and close to the district centre with its shopping and social facilities and good transport links. We have 84 single ensuite rooms, and our residents require nursing care, some have mental health issues such as dementia, and some need end-of-life care. Each of the three floors has its own dedicated care team to ensure continuity. Orchid has several lounges and dining areas, a large cinema room, hair salon, activity room, and a coffee shop which leads straight into our garden. Our residents are supported by our teams to have maximum choice and control of their lives in the least restrictive way possible.

Job Overview:
To keep our beautiful and friendly home running smoothly, we need a Registered Nurse (RGN/ RMN) with excellent clinical skills and experience of working in a nursing home to work days with our lovely team for 36 hours per week. We need a caring and compassionate individual to help us deliver the type of care you’d want your own relatives to have.
With a flexible and dynamic approach to providing person centred care, you‘ll be responsible for developing care plans, administering medication and generally ensuring the safety and welfare of all our residents. Promoting best practice within the team to maintain our high standards of care, and maintaining an oversight of all recording, you will also supervise team members to ensure effective team working. You may also be involved with induction, mentoring and training staff as directed. Along with all of the day to day tasks there will be the requirement to participate in quality assurance audits.Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of adults. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances. You will of course, need to have a valid NMC PIN, have experience in a care setting, and be available occasionally to work weekend and evening shifts.

To keep our friendly home a happy and bright place to be, we are seeking two domestic assistants, one full time and one bank. We need warm-hearted, enthusiastic and committed individuals to help us deliver the type of caring and stimulating environment you’d want your own relatives to have.
When you join us as a domestic assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in the success of our lovely care home. You will be making sure the residents’ bedrooms and communal areas, e.g. corridors, lounges, toilets and storage areas are maintained in a comfortable and hygienic condition. We will ensure you are trained in infection control, how to use the equipment and any cleaning chemicals necessary, in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
You’ll be a good team player who takes pride in your work, and be happy to go the extra mile helping to maintain the warm and friendly atmosphere for our residents.
Experience of working in a care setting is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
We have two positions available, one full time post, and one bank to provide cover as and when we need it, such as for annual leave or sick leave, so the hours and days you work will vary.

You will be absolutely essential to the well-being of the residents that we support. Your role will include devising and implementing meaningful occupational therapies, organising outings when appropriate, as well as events in the home.
We need a programme of activities and events aimed at promoting independence and social engagement, and making certain all our residents have tailored involvement to suit their needs. This may include reminiscence therapy, liaising with residents to take account of their ideas and requests, and contacting providers for music sessions, pet therapy, crafts, puzzles and lots more.
Excellent communication skills are required, as is the ability to work well as part of a dedicated team. Always giving support to our residents and maintaining their dignity and privacy, the whole team strive to provide a happy, stimulating and stable environment.

We are urgently looking for a Registered Nurse to help us look after our residents.

We are looking for someone flexible and reliable to help us provide the highest level of outstanding care. Starting as soon as possible, you will join our lovely team of nurses and carers, working 36 hours per week.

This position is subject to a DBS Disclosure which can be applied for during the recruitment process.
