Registered Nurse – Newlands Care Home

Pay – £17 per hour

Newlands is in the heart of Salford and can accommodate 30 residents needing nursing or residential care. Most of our residents follow the Jewish faith, and the home is licensed with the Beth-Din. We maintain very strong links to the Jewish community via the Jewish Federation, our resident Rabbi, and the local Jewish day centre.

Role:

To keep our beautiful and friendly home running smoothly, we need a Registered Nurse with experience of working in a care home to work 4 full time days per week, including some weekends. We need a caring and compassionate individual to help us deliver the type of care you’d want your own relatives to have.

You will need a strong clinical background and very good communication skills to ensure everyone from nurses to carers work together effectively, always keeping in mind person centred care.

You‘ll be good at developing care plans and risk assessments, administering medication and generally ensuring the safety and welfare of all our residents. Promoting best practice within the team to maintain our high standards of care, and maintaining an oversight of all recording, you will also supervise team members and may be involved with induction, mentoring and training staff as directed. Along with all of the day to day tasks there will be the requirement to participate in quality assurance audits.

Successful applicants are required to provide an enhanced DBS disclosure at their own expense, and all positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances. You will of course, need to have a valid NMC PIN, and have experience in a care setting.

Activities Coordinator – Newlands Care Home

Hours: 24 per week

Salary: £8.91 per hour

We maintain very strong links to the Jewish community via the Jewish Federation, our resident Rabbi, and the local Jewish day centre.

Job Overview:  

To keep our friendly home a happy and bright place to be, we are seeking an activities coordinator with experience of working in a care home to join our team for 24 hours per week, worked over 5 days. We need a warm-hearted, enthusiastic and committed individual to help us deliver the type of caring and stimulating environment you’d want your own relatives to have.

Your role will include devising and implementing meaningful occupational therapies, organising outings when appropriate, as well as events in the home. We need a programme of activities and events aimed at promoting independence and social engagement, and making certain all our residents have tailored involvement to suit their needs, and keeping their faith in mind. Activities may include reminiscence therapy, regular liaison with residents to take account of their ideas and requests, and contacting providers for music sessions, pet therapy, crafts, puzzles and lots more.

Excellent communication skills are required, knowledge of the Jewish faith and the ability to work well as part of a dedicated team. Always giving support to our residents and maintaining their dignity and privacy, the whole team strive to provide a happy, stimulating and stable environment.
