The home is tastefully decorated, and the service users have had an input into the décor. We truly feel the home is their home, and the service users direct the business accordingly.
Our qualified chefs meet regularly with the service users to develop and review the menus. All meals are prepared in-house from fresh produce to ensure a high quality of food is maintained and a good dining experience is achieved. We feel meal times are a very important part of our day and understand that everyone is different, so we go to great lengths to ensure all needs and wishes are met. All special dietary requirements are able to be accommodated.
Our highly trained and dedicated Care team consist of a Manager, who solely dedicates their time to Orchid Care Home, Clinical Lead Nurse and our full 24-hour nursing team, a head chef and supporting kitchen staff, a highly skilled care team, and maintenance and domestic teams. Our staff members are trained above the national guidelines for Care Assistants. An activity coordinator complements the team, as the relationship between taking part in activities and keeping healthy and happy is important with older people in care settings. The benefits of taking part and socialising with others can hugely improve their lives.
Orchid Care Home cares for service users who primarily require nursing care or are suffering from mental health issues or need end-of-life care. This is a specialized area of care in which we ensure all our service users, family, and friends, as well as staff, are supported throughout. We put a high importance on quality of life, so our activity coordinator directs and supports our service users in maintaining hobbies and interests wherever possible, ensuring each person’s day is enriched, and that opinions and knowledge are valued.
