BACK TO ASHLEY WE GO…..

Once a Month the Birchy Hill Residents are meeting up with the Residents from another Care Home to socialise, listen to some music and enjoy a cuppa and a lovely cake.

Last week we were back in Ashley and had a lovely afternoon.
A big ‘Thank you’ to all staff in Ashley Lodge!

RESIDENTS HAVE THEIR SAY….

Every two months the Residents meet at Birchy Hill to say their opinion about activities, express their wishes, or comment on future events.

This month’s Residents’ meeting was very successful. There were proposals to build some football teams, to find someone who can play the accordion, or for regular Pub visits, just to mention a few.

We will look into the suggestions and might be able to use them for the next monthly programme.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY GENTLEMEN…..

All Gentlemen were invited to celebrate Fathers’ Day in Birchy Hill last Sunday.

They received a small gift and card in the morning and in the afternoon friends and families were invited to join in with our Gentlemen to enjoy a lovely Gentlemen’s Afternoon Tea.

BIRCHY HILL’S PYJAMARAMA

We teamed up with a local Pre School, the ‘Little Flyers’, to enjoy reading, playing, and singing for young and old, wearing pyjamas for a snug afternoon.

All ages had so much fun, also helping each other eating cupcakes and some edible prizes the children won.

It was a very loud afternoon of laughter and fun, very much enjoyed by our Residents. The ‘little ones’ would love to repeat this meeting and we are all looking forward to our next party with the ’Little Flyers’.

A very big ‘Thank you’ goes to the children, parents and Laura’s team from the ‘Little Flyers’ Pre School in Sway.

D-DAY CELEBRATIONS

To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, Birchy Hill Residents and Staff celebrated with a remembrance tea party.

Singing war time songs like ‘Lily Marlene…’, ‘Don’t know where…’, and ‘Run Rabbit run…’and a little talk about the many fallen in the Normandy reminded everybody what these men gave for our freedom.
