MEMORIES………….

“I had one just like this!” was a Resident’s reaction when she saw our new record player.

Last year Birchy Hill received a donation of a large amount of records (LPs and Singles). We then purchased a retro style record player and brought the two together.

At the weekend we had our first little retro music party which was a great success with all present. Drinks and chocolates were offered, and you could hear everybody singing and humming to the old-time songs.

For sure, this will become a regular activity in Birchy Hill.

ANOTHER HIGH FLYER AT BIRCHY HILL

Golden Wing for Mario

Mario Bandonill, Kitchen Assistant at Birchy Hill, was awarded with a certificate by Gill Robinson, our Operations Director, and the ‘Golden Wing’ by our Manager Mark Yon, as a sign for being a great colleague to both Chefs, and as a wonderful help to new Staff.

Mario has worked for Angel Care plc for 11 years and is very loyal to the Service. And last, but not least, Mario has a lovely sense of humour.

Well done Mario, congratulations from all.

Congratulations Manju, well done!

WELCOMING THE NEW YEAR IN ………….

Some of our Residents here at Birchy Hill started the New Year with another gathering.

They welcomed 2018 with a lovely meal and some drinks.

The last Christmas crackers were opened and everyone enjoyed the end of the season, looking forward to whatever the new year might bring.

“SHOULD OLD ACQUAINTANCE BE FORGOT?..”

New Year’s Eve at Birchy Hill was full of memories and celebrations.

Each community of Residents had their own little party in their lounges.

They started with a wonderful buffet, they also had a collection of nice drinks and spent their time with each other until the clock struck 12 having nibbles, drinks and a selection of music.

Party hats were worn, stories were exchanged, and you could hear singing and laughter throughout the Home.

A very HAPPY NEW YEAR from all of us to all of you!
