It is the first time the Queen has celebrated her official birthday at Windsor Castle. As the traditional Trooping the Colour parade was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic, this day was marked with a unique ceremony performed by the Welsh Guard at Windsor Castle.

Residents at Birchy Hill celebrated by watching the BBC’s broadcast from Windsor Castle, and playing a game “What would do if you were the Queen for one day”, followed by a garden musical entertainment by the Land Girls and a high tea.

Residents at Birchy Hill dodged the rain and enjoyed an Indian themed day with entertainment by a group of staff who went above and beyond, dressed traditionally and danced, offering a wonderful and colourful show.
Many thanks go to Head Chef Sam who delivered a wonderful, inspired Indian menu that complemented the entertainment.

Ella Fitzgerald  said: “The only thing better than singing is more singing.” And this is what we do at Birchy Hill, where residents and staff alike enjoy and are cheered up with weekly sing along karaoke sessions.

Let there be cheese and wine … or cake and wine … or banana and chocolate … or ……

We can carry on like this for weeks as our residents enjoy something different at the weekly Breakfast Club.
