REMEMBER, REMEMBER – BIRCHY HILL

Remember, remember…….

….the 5th of November! That’s what Birchy Hill do every year since we were children. Our Residents here at Birchy Hill enjoyed a lovely afternoon full of music by pianist Alastair Hume and a nice little tea party.

We were talking about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot and the old tradition “A Penny for the Guy”.

Everybody could join in and remembered stories from the old days. Sitting in between the Residents was our “Guy”, who waited anxiously for his “execution”. To finish this historic event, we watched the fire works in the night sky.

THE LAST POST – PLAYED FOR REMBRANCE

A message from Debbie -PA to Gill Robinson

I was invited to attend the Service for this years Remembrance.

It was an emotional event, they had prayers, and messages of thoughts, as well as playing the Last Post on a musical instrument.

Each Resident who attended had a special thought for a loved one who fought in the war

It was a lovely service

Thank you to Dawn for inviting me to take part and share my thoughts, also thank you to Tina and the Activity Team for organising this special occasion
