Our Residents had the possibility to watch the BBC’s televised programme on both weekend days to mark this year’s Remembrance week.

They enjoyed it with a finger food buffet and shared some memories from their childhood.

On Sunday morning we stayed with the tradition of 2 minutes silence to honour men and women who have been serving for their country and reflected where we are today because of them.

On Saturday, the Land Girls entertained us with their wonderful show. They arrived in military uniforms and finished the entertainment with their flag waving ‘Spirit of the Blitz’ finale.

It was a great success with our Residents and their friends and families alike.

The ‘Girls’ were lovely to look at and their singing was overwhelming. Our Gentlemen were very excited until one did not want to sit still anymore and went up to sing with them.

After the show we had a little tea party with yummy cake and cupcakes form our kitchen. Everything was decorated accordingly.

This year is a special year to commemorate the fallen, who lost their lives in their fight for freedom.

We celebrate not only Armistice and Remembrance Day, but also 100 years end of WWI.

To highlight these events, we decorated Birchy Hill with Poppies and flags inside and outside

That was the motto for our Halloween party.

Everybody enjoyed the party with Serenity (Jane Parris) and a lovely buffet from the kitchen.
