We started in May this year with the boat trips on the “Alison MacGregor” and went out every single month since then.

So many Residents enjoyed a lovely time cruising from Hythe Marina to see the Southampton Harbour with all the interesting ships, boats and ferries.

We learned a lot on these days, as the different Skippers and Crews explained everything in a way that everybody could understand.

We look forward to next summer and hope that we can book many trips again.

A very big Thank you goes to “Solent Dolphin” and everybody on the “Alison MacGregor” who made our trips an unforgettable experience.

50 Years of Love

Pamela and Barry were the Golden Happy Couple.

We celebrated with them “50 Years of their Love.

Pamela brought a photograph from their Wedding Day in 1968, which was adored by everybody.

A lovely couple then and now!

Congratulations to the both of you from all at Birchy Hill!

All the Residents who joined the seated exercises group with Vitality Care were surprised how much fun they had.

This session’s topic was ‘Throw a Ball’. We played Balloon Tennis, ‘Basket Ball’, Squish It, and Hit the Cones.

Engaging music encouraged everybody to be part of the game. T

hank you, Shelley, as every time it was a great session.

When we docked the port in New Milton. Birchy Hill Pirates boarded the ship – some call it “Ashley Lodge Care Home”.

Everybody was in a lovely mood and looked forward to what was coming next, as they were seeing a new place and new people.

We enjoyed a great Pirates of the Caribbean Party with wild Ukulele music, fruit punch, and ‘Caribbean’ finger food.

After playing some games and winning some gold coins, we left them and their jewellery in peace. But they don’t know – we might come back!

Cruising back to our home port in Sway, the pirates were laughing, cheering and singing, and all agreed, it was a wonderful day out.

Friday afternoon was Party Time at Birchy Hill!

This time we invited Graham Bennett to entertain us with “Swing and Jazz” music.

The Residents were thrilled by his performance and gave him a roaring applause.
