AN AFTERNOON OF BALLROOM DANCE

Residents and their Families could not sit still when they listened to the “Foxtrot, Waltz and the Tango Rhythms”

It was an afternoon of dance and memories. Betty’s face says everything. She was one happy lady in the arms of her beloved Husband Bev.

Well done Ladies and Gentlemen!

NATIONAL BURGER DAY..

On Thursday 22nd August 2019, Birchy Hill celebrated “National Burger Day”.

For some Residents it was a completely new meal experience. Although there was some scepticism in the beginning, but all Residents loved their ‘modern’ food in the end.

Thank you, Samantha, for that delicious idea!

6 NEW LADIES ARRIVE AT BIRCHY HILL

Please welcome our “6 New Chicken Ladies” who recently moved into their lovely chicken house in the bottom of Birchy Hill’s Garden.

The ladies are called Mildred and Georgina, donated by Bruce’s daughter Tina, Sally, Agnes, Myrtle and Daphne, who moved in just a few days later.

They are all well and are looking forward to providing us with yummy eggs.

A big ‘Thank you’ goes to the Glanville family!

AFTERNOON TEA WEEK…

Sometimes the wait for dinner is far too long, and when lunch has passed by too many hours ago, and the length of the day is starting to wear out our Residents. When this happens, it’s time to settle in with a warm cup of tea, a lovely cake and some light sandwiches.

Afternoon Tea Week taps into the British Tradition of afternoon tea to help bring a bit of elegance and pomp to an otherwise unremarkable time of day.

Birchy Hill celebrated this tradition with two afternoons having a wonderful High Tea served to our Residents and their Families.

A big thank you goes to Samantha Nash, our Head Chef, who spoiled us with her yummy creations!
