D-DAY CELEBRATIONS

To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, Birchy Hill Residents and Staff celebrated with a remembrance tea party.

Singing war time songs like ‘Lily Marlene…’, ‘Don’t know where…’, and ‘Run Rabbit run…’and a little talk about the many fallen in the Normandy reminded everybody what these men gave for our freedom.

FIRE SAFETY FIRST

As every year all employees at Birchy Hill are trained to the highest standard of the MRA by Gary Gregg, Our Fire Safety Advisor and Training Specialist.

It was very interesting, and we all feel assured knowing what to do to prevent a fire or even what to do in the worst-case scenario.

The sessions were split into theoretical and practical exercises and everybody enjoyed trying out different fire extinguishers.

A written test at the end made sure, everybody understood and feels confident with the information we received.

After the training sessions Gary made sure Birchy Hill is fire safe by assessing and minimising the fire risk.

A big ‘Thank You’ to Gary Gregg!

PHYSICAL EXERCISES AT BIRCHY HILL

Birchy Hill’s Residents love to be active!

They enjoy having a fun filled morning with Vitality Care (Photograph), but they also join activities like ‘Sit and be Fit’, ‘Chair Dance’, ‘Music and Movement’, the ‘Parachute Game’, ‘Balloon Tennis’ and a variety of ball games, which are the favourite of some of our very competitive players.

In the summer months also gardening, garden walks, and trips to the lake or the seaside offer physical activities for everybody.

BELLY DANCERS COME TO BIRCHY HILL

Habibi and the Flowers of the Desert were guests in our Home.

They entertained us with their Belly Dance Show which magically transformed Birchy Hill into an Arabian Palace.

The colourful costumes and the very engaging music encouraged the Residents and Staff alike to join the professional dancers.

Thank you, Habibi, we had great fun!
