I would like to thank Dawn and Jackie from Orchid Care Home for my flowers and having a cake with me on my birthday.

 

To commemorate the fallen and honour the many service men and women who have risked and for those who still risk their lives for their country and for peace on earth.

Marco Antraca received October’s Highflyer Award for being a hardworking Senior Health Care Assistant who puts residents first.

The dedication to his job and the understanding of his role make him work above and beyond his normal duties.

Congratulations Marco, well done!

The Residents and Staff in Birchy Hill gathered together to pay their respects to remember the fallen and to salute the living service men and women.

We listened to “The last Post” played on trumpet and the reading of the fourth verse of the “Ode of Remembrance”. After 2 minutes of Silence we watched the televised programme of the “Lord Mayor’s Show”.

It was a very emotional morning for all present.

 

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning
