The home can care for 65 service users, mostly in single rooms, many with en suite toilets. The original building, rich in local history, had a new extension added in 2008. The home has a variety of spaces for the service users to enjoy. These include 5 lounges and dining areas, 2 large conservatories, a library and spiritual room, and a quiet visitor’s lounge. In addition, we provide day trips for our Service users via our on-site minibus, including local places of interests and out into the New Forest.

Why Choose Birchy Hill

The home is tastefully decorated, with service users having had input into the décor. We truly feel the home is their home; and the service users direct the business accordingly.

Our qualified chefs meet regularly with the service users to develop and review the menus. All meals are prepared in-house from fresh produce to ensure a high quality of food is maintained and a good dining experience is achieved. We feel meal times are a very important part of our day and understand everyone is different, so we go to great lengths to ensure all needs and wishes are met. All special dietary requirements are able to be accommodated.

An additional team of activity staff complement the Care team, as the relationship between taking part in activities and keeping healthy and happy is important with older people in care settings. The benefits of taking part and socialising with others can hugely improve their lives.
