ALL ABOARD

On Sunday Morning a few Residents from Birchy Hill went on a Boat Trip.

We boarded the M/V “Alison MacGregor” Mk3, a specially built boat providing trips for people with disabilities, including those in wheelchairs.

The boat left Hythe Marina at about 10am and we arrived back on land at 1.30pm. While we had lovely sunshine, our Residents enjoyed the trip with blankets, hot chocolate and biscuits.

We passed many big cruise ships, some boats you can see in the movie “Dunkirk”, super fast ferries, container ships and many more.

Everybody on board had a lovely time, thanks to the friendly and helpful crew from Solent Dolphin, operating the boat.

TEA PARTY WITH NIGEL REVILL

The other Friday Afternoon it was Party time at Birchy Hill.

Many Residents and Relatives were listening to Nigel Revill playing his guitar while they were having a nice cup of tea and a yummy slice of cake in Peggy’s Café.

Nigel’s repertoire included older and newer songs so everybody could join in. The audience loved him and gave him big rounds of applause.

When the entertainment finished, everyone left the café with a smile on their face and you could even hear some Residents humming the tunes into the late evening.

Thank you Nigel, we enjoyed the performance very much!

LADIES CLUB VISITING THE REPTILE CENTER

Following up reading some interesting stories about reptiles, the ladies decided to have a trip to the New Forest Reptile Center.

We left Birchy Hill with a basket filled up with cakes and coffees so we could have  a little morning picnic in the forest.

Afterwards we were looking for the reptiles, which unfortunately were hiding under plants and tree trunks.

To destroy the disappointment, one of the rangers showed and explained all the exhibits to our very interested ladies.

Fortunately the weather was kind to us and we called it a lovely day out.
