HIGH FLYERS IN MARCH 2019

The High Flyer Award for Mach was given to 2 very valued young ladies:

Kate Gilbert – Mental Health Nurse, was recognised for her dedication and hard work. She manages case work very well, is proactive in getting tasks done, and is very involved with service users’ care.

Eloisa Silva – Health Care Assistant, received the award for her hard work, for being kind and caring. She has a great personality and attitude to work. Eloise is always ready to help and made a great impression in a short time.

Congratulations from all at Birchy Hill, well done, ladies!

INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY

On the 12th May, Florence Nightingale’s Birthday, Nurses are honoured and celebrated all over the world.

In Birchy Hill, we celebrated this day with a lovely tea party, where Staff could reminisce with little anecdotes from their careers.

The Nurses wore different uniforms to demonstrate the changes Nurses were gone through over the last decades.

We listened to some information about Mary Seacole, another famous nurse in the Crimean War, and were challenged with a crossword puzzle to test our knowledge about nursing.

SIT AND BE FIT………………..

Next to our regular Vitality Care group sessions, we now offer a new activity class, called “Sit and be Fit”

The Residents play ball (here with our new Volley ball net), have chair dances or other easy physical activities.

It is always supported by engaging music. Residents and staff enjoy the sessions likewise.

SOCIAL CLUB IN ASHLEY

Once a Month our Residents join in with social events in the wider community.

Here they visited another Care Home to have an afternoon of music, dance, fun and laughter.
