SOCIAL CLUB IN ASHLEY

Once a month the Birchy Hill Residents go off to meet the Residents in a Care Home in Ashley.

These meetings support our Residents contact with the wider community.

This time we were entertained with a fun filled musical show and quiz, and we enjoyed tea and homemade jam doughnuts.

Our team was quite successful in answering quiz questions, something to talk about on the way home.

With a smile and a tune on their lips, everybody returned happily and probably dreamed about Doris Day, Frank Sinatra or George Michael.

INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY

On the 12th May, Florence Nightingale’s Birthday, Nurses are honoured and celebrated all over the world.

In Birchy Hill, we celebrated this day with a lovely tea party, where Staff could reminisce with little anecdotes from their careers.

The Nurses wore different uniforms to demonstrate the changes Nurses were gone through over the last decades.

We listened to some information about Mary Seacole, another famous nurse in the Crimean War, and were challenged with a crossword puzzle to test our knowledge about nursing.
