HIP, HIP, HOORAY, MANAGER

We celebrated Mark Yon’s Anniversary, being our highly valued Manager in Birchy Hill for 6 years on 28th May 2018. Mark has been a loyal employee of Angel Care / MNS Care for 17 years and he still loves his job as he did, when he started all those years ago.

He had no idea what was happening behind his back just before the 28th. A lovely cake was made, even with his photograph being printed onto it. Signatures were collected for a card in secret, which was not always easy, as Mark has special sensors to know if there is something going on. But we did it!

One member of Staff had to get him out of his office with a little white lie to lure him into Peggy’s Café where Staff, Residents, and Telatives were waiting.

You could clearly see how surprised Mark was, when he realised what it was about.
Congratulations Mark for being a great Manager for the last 6 years, looking forward to the many years to come. Well done!

THE COLOURS OF THE RAINBOW………….

… so pretty in the sky … When Jane Parris started to sing Louis Armstrong’s ‘What a wonderful world’ the audience joined into a lovely sing along.

Jane provided lots of percussion instruments and everybody could show their rhythm. Some Residents could not sit still anymore and even stood up for a little dance.

I believe I can say everybody loved this kind of entertainment at the end of a busy week in Birchy Hill.

Thank you, Jane Parris!

MATINEE WITH CARYN MORANT

Friday morning entertainment par excellence delivered by Caryn Morant. Birchy Hill’s Residents and Guests were dancing and clapping their hands and joined in when Caryn started to sing tunes which brought back old-time memories.

After an hour of rhythm, the audience left thrilled by the happy music.

Thank you, Caryn Morant!

READY FOR THE WEDDING……..

On Saturday Morning there was hustle and bustle in the all the Units.

Everybody wanted to be dressed nicely for the big event.

Our Ladies wore the latest fashion hats and the Gentlemen did not want to be without a nice tie.

In our picture you can see one lovely example; Terrie was ready for the wedding celebrations and loved the idea to be ‘part’ of it.
