WINTER NIGHTS

In December the nights come early and are very dark in the Hampshire country side. But not at Birchy Hill – our Christmas / Winter decorations shine bright and they invite not only Father Christmas to step in for a little visit, but the Villagers all around.

We’ve got already lots of compliments for the lovely decoration from people just passing by or Sway villagers who came to adore it.

BROCKENHURST COLLEGE PERFORMS

Young Performers welcome in Birchy Hill

Brockenhurst College Performing Arts Group gave us a nice morning singing Christmas Carols and some modern Christmas songs. The Residents just loved their performance and joined in with the well known tunes. Jenny and John were singing “Silent Night – Holy Night”, others tapped their feet or clapped hands. The young performers recognised the very calm and loving atmosphere between care staff and Residents.

Thank you, we were very glad having you here this Christmas time.

RETRO RITA

Retro Rita presents her Christmas Crackers

Retro Rita engaged her audience with lovely Christmas tunes everybody could remember. She brought all sorts of Christmas accessories very much loved by our Residents.

They transformed into Father Christmas, an elf, or even little Rudolph with antlers. Everybody was given bells and rattles to join the rhythm of Jingle Bells or a Sleigh ride alike. Happy faces humming or singing Christmas tunes were seen this evening dreaming of a White Christmas.

FRIENDSHIP WITH THE COMMUNITY

The Catholic Church in Lymington established their very own choir to sing for the elderly – The Friendship Singers!

This jolly group engaged and entertained the Residents with an old time sing along and well known Christmas carols.

It was a lovely afternoon for everybody.

Afterwards we all enjoyed a lovely cup of tea and a homemade cake by our Chef.

A big Thank you to “The Friendship Singers”!
