BIRCHY HILL GETS FIRST AID TRAINING
Gary Peake, the Trainer from “Acacia Training” showed the necessary skills that every First Aider needs.
The Staff were very impressed and happy to learn by the hands-on sessions.
Eye opening training units with ‘drastic’ exercises helped the Birchy Hill Staff to become skilled and sensitive First Aiders.
Temporarily our Trainees looked badly injured to give an impression how they could be confronted in a real-life accident.
Thank you, Gary, for this valuable training!
YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE………………….
“You are my Sunshine, My only Sunshine…”
This was Mike Sidaway’s last song in our little musical matinee.
He performed songs from “Louis Armstrong”, “Frank Sinatra” and “Dean Martin” to name only a few.
Our audience was overwhelmed by this great entertainment and hardly anyone wanted to stay in their seats.
Most residents were dancing and enjoyed the music thoroughly. After one hour we had to wave good bye. We are looking forward seeing you again soon, Mike.
Thank you!
AUGUST 2018 – HIGH FLYER
Above and Beyond!
Our Senior Health Care Assistant “Marco Monteiro” received a Birchy Hill’s “Highflyer Award” for August 2018.
He is very flexible to the needs of the Service.
Marco is hard working and has a positive attitude towards his work. He is very happy in his role and was recently promoted to be a Senior Health Care Assistant.
Marco does not only go above and beyond his duties, he is also a lovely colleague to work with. Well done!
Congratulations from all at Birchy Hill!
LAST BOAT TRIP FOR 2018
We started in May this year with the boat trips on the “Alison MacGregor” and went out every single month since then.
So many Residents enjoyed a lovely time cruising from Hythe Marina to see the Southampton Harbour with all the interesting ships, boats and ferries.
We learned a lot on these days, as the different Skippers and Crews explained everything in a way that everybody could understand.
We look forward to next summer and hope that we can book many trips again.
A very big Thank you goes to “Solent Dolphin” and everybody on the “Alison MacGregor” who made our trips an unforgettable experience.
Ahoy from all of us at Birchy Hill – see you next year!
